THE DEVELOPING BRAIN

When we are born all of our organs are fully developed except one... the BRAIN.  Development begins in utero, like our other organs, but this growth continues far beyond our worldly debut.  Neuroplasticity proves that our brains remain plastic and malleable across a lifetime however there is a specific time in which the brain grows and matures.  We often refer to this time period as childhood but as recent research shows the human brain may continue to mature and develop into one's late twenties.  This page focuses on the 5 w's of brain development: what, when, where, why and who.
